Would you like to introduce a bit about yourself (your team) and the origin of the Shavlog?
We are a team of young and enthusiastic people from Slovenia. We got together because we all loved improving designs and making solutions for a lot of daily tasks and chores.
What inspired you (and your team) to start Shavlog?
There is a lot of people, who do not have enough strength and dexterity to use axes or knives for splitting wood. In fact, a lot of old people always have a difficult time splitting wood. Furthermore, people nowadays do not have too much time for themselves, so we think the Shavlog will make them save on time, which they could spend with loved ones.
These are the main reasons why we invented something like that. And we must not forget, the summertime is coming soon, barbecue parties.
What is the mission or philosophy of Shavlog?
Splitting wood has always been a hard nut to crack and dangerous as well. That's why we invented a product which will make such a task go smoothly. Main philosophy is that people save on time, and are not in danger while splitting wood.
What are some of the key features of the design of your product?
Products nowadays are usually made by different machines in factories. But our Shavlog is made by hand, using the old, tried and tested procedures. Despite that, we have also made it light enough, so anyone can use it. The blade is a very special story in and of itself: it is our innovation. It is cut by a machine to give a kind of a curve that gives the best results. We took the shape of the blade from the axe and its strength was further increased with tempering as used for the best kind of blades in the world.
Who are some of the target customers of Shavlog?
* people who live in in suburbs or villages;
* people who have fireplaces;
* people who live on farms;
* people who use wood as their source for heating their homes;
* people who love grilled food;
* people who are tired of using axes and other dangerous tools for splitting wood.
What are some of the greatest challenges Shavlog has faced and how did you overcome them?
Every project itself is demanding. We were full of enthusiasm doing the Shavlog project and results were consequently above and beyond all expectations.
This project was carried out very wisely because of our dedication and it has come to an end, but if we exceed our expectations, we still have some great functions for Shavlog, which can be added to the product and make it even better for the backers.
Even though this is our first project, we have prepared well for it. We signed contracts with external collaborators as with other companies, which will help us transport Shavlogs all over the globe. Furthermore, we have also made packaging for the product. We have thought about almost everything so the project can go like clockwork.
We also realize that something unexpected can always take place, like bad weather. We will always be open for everything you want to know and solve possible challenges at short notice.
What's the greatest achievement of Shavlog?
Shavlog has made our campaign successful. We have, hopefully, reached our primary goal. Some people even gave us a very great feedback.
