PathFinders ensures the most vulnerable and unsupported children in HK are protected and respected, and their migrant mothers are empowered to find a path to a bright future.
PathFinders was established in 2008 after our founders discovered two babies and their migrant mothers living in extreme poverty and danger in Chung King Mansions. The mothers could only afford to feed their babies leftover rice cooking water. No one was able to help them, and so PathFinders was founded on the belief that no child should be born alone and deprived of an identity, basic supplies, healthcare and shelter. To date, PathFinders has improved the lives of almost 7,000 babies, children and women who have fallen through the gaps in HK's public welfare and healthcare system. To prevent babies and migrant mothers falling into crisis, we educate and empower migrant women about their maternity rights and obligations, and are increasing awareness amongst the general public. We have also taken part in over 300 public consultations and submissions to promote policies and practices that protect the children and mothers we serve.
