Campaign Details

Between August 31st and September 9th, I will be attempting the 34-kilometer English Channel Swim in support of the Splash Foundation. I also hope to be the first Singaporean woman to achieve this feat. Money raised from my swim will help support Splash's expansion to Singapore, teaching 100 domestic workers from Singapore's under-resourced communities.

Splash provides zero-cost learn-to-swim lessons and water safety skills to low-income communities. Its mix of volunteer and professional coaches have taught over 4,000 migrant domestic workers and underprivileged children the fundamentals of water safety and how to feel comfortable in the water.

Through my involvement with Splash as a volunteer coach, I’ve seen first-hand the journey from complete beginner to confident swimmer. Overcoming fear while learning a life-saving skill can be transformational for all aspects of a person’s health: physical, emotional, and mental.

Swimming truly is for everyone. I hope to show that stepping outside your comfort zone, and even taking part in endurance events, is not reserved for elite athletes only.
